Adele Tevlin Built The Identity Ascension Method for Women Founders

A $5,000 furnace bill changed how she understands success, and rebuilt her business from the identity up.

August 27, 2026

Adele Tevlin’s clients already know what to do. They have the strategy, the credentials, and the track record, but they are stuck under the same invisible ceiling. Adele’s work starts at the foundation under all of it: at an identity level.

Adele Tevlin is a behavioral expert, international speaker, and the founder of Adele Wellness. She has spent over 20 years studying psychology, human behavior, subconscious programming, and transformation, first with executives in a private practice and now with high-achieving women in business. She is also a member of the Entreprenista League.

Her path from a Bay Street office to a global certification came down to one repair bill.

Twenty years before the business

Adele spent more than 20 years studying psychology, human behavior, subconscious programming, and transformation before any of it looked like a company. She started in executive coaching and built a practice with leaders and executives out of an office on Bay Street in Toronto. The foundation she laid there still runs through what she teaches now.

Founding a company was never the plan. “I always knew I wanted to help people transform, but I didn’t necessarily have a vision of becoming an entrepreneur or building the business I have today,” she says.

What she did not have was freedom. She was working 12-hour days and dreading the walk into work.

The $5,000 furnace bill

In 2018 her furnace broke. The repair came to $5,000, and the woman with the successful Bay Street practice couldn't comfortably cover it. Her then-boyfriend, now husband, lent her the money.

“It was an incredibly confronting moment because externally I looked successful, but my financial reality told a different story,” she says. “It forced me to look at my own identity around money, success, receiving, and what I believed was possible for me.”

She gave up the office, moved the business online, and built her first 7-figure business within 8 months.

The women who already know what to do

Adele’s clients are ambitious, high-achieving women: entrepreneurs, founders, executives, coaches, therapists, and wellness practitioners. Most of them are already successful and unusually self-aware. What brings them to her is the ceiling they keep meeting.

“They don’t need someone to tell them to work harder,” she says. “They’re trying to understand why they keep hitting the same invisible ceiling, despite knowing exactly what they ‘should’ be doing.”

The work she describes goes beneath mindset and strategy, into identity, childhood conditioning, subconscious beliefs, nervous system patterns, and what she calls the internal capacity to hold the life and success you want. That's what The Identity Ascension Method is built from.

Training practitioners worldwide

This past year Adele launched the first cohort of The Identity Ascension Method Certification and began building it into a program practitioners around the world can go through. Adele Wellness kept expanding at the same time, through speaking, partnerships, private mentorship, and live experiences.

“I’m proud that the work I began doing one-on-one more than 2 decades ago has grown into a body of work and methodology that can now live beyond me,” she says. “There’s something incredibly powerful about watching a practitioner experience the work personally, master it, and then bring it into the room with her own clients.”

Business growth excites her. Building something that reaches past her own direct hours is what she is proudest of.

Growing as far as she is willing to grow

For years Adele believed the breakthrough sat one strategy, one credential, or one more level of effort away. Eventually she saw that every new level of the business was asking for a new level of identity, leadership, receiving, and letting go.

“In many ways, I’ve had to continually become a new version of myself as the business has grown, which is exactly what I now teach,” she says.

Her advice for founders is to swap one question for another. “Stop asking, ‘What do I need to do to create the business I want?’ and start asking, ‘Who would I need to be to create the business I want?’” she says. She pairs it with a warning: “And don’t build a business you secretly hate running.”

Bigger stages and a book

Adele recently spoke at The Pink Skirt Project and is still buzzing about it. More stages are the plan, along with teaching, collaborating, and holding bigger conversations about identity, wealth, leadership, and what creates lasting change in people.

Her next chapter is the book that has been sitting on her to-do list for a long time. She has spent over 20 years gathering the material for it.
