Dr. Dominique Carson LMP, Founder of Mani Benedette, LLC is dedicated to harnessing the power of healing through touch. I specialize in therapeutic massage, offering services designed to help clients improve physical comfort, alleviate pain, and promote emotional peace and spiritual well-being. I will provide personalized massage therapies tailored to individual needs, ensuring a holistic approach to wellness. Through my services, modalities, and coaching, I will strive to create a nurturing environment that supports clients on their journey towards overall health and rejuvenation. The vision for MB, the business's nickname, is to become the premier mobile massage therapy provider in urban and opulent markets, recognized for wellness care, expert service, healing arts, and education.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Not at all because I knew the ins and outs of being self-employed or running a business. It's truly not a walk in the park.

Take us back to when you launched? What was your marketing strategy?

I am thrilled to share the launch of my mobile massage service, Mani Benedette, LLC, in March 2025. This has been a personal journey for me, as I have been working on this business since 2019, a year before the onset of COVID-19. I am grateful for the courage to step into this industry while maintaining a job, and I am excited to share this achievement with the world.

What accomplishments are you the most proud of to date in your business?

My journey began over six months ago with a mix of courage and anxiety. However, the unwavering love and support from my beau, family, friends, and colleagues have been a constant source of strength. Their belief in me has been instrumental in my success. I am proud to have secured a PRN independent contractor position at the renowned Omni Homestead Spa in Hot Springs, VA, for another year, thanks to my exceptional performance as a massage practitioner. My monthly revenue from the spa can range from $6,000 to $10,000.

My journey has not only been about personal growth but also about contributing to the community. I am still in the early stages of being an entrepreneur, but it has encouraged me to embrace the entrepreneur mindset, and then craft, massage therapy, or writing is secondary. I started networking at local wellness events, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and massage therapists has helped build community trust and brand visibility. These collaborations have not only enhanced my skills but also allowed me to deliver advanced, results-oriented sessions. I am proud to have made a positive impact on my community's wellness. With a renewed sense of purpose and conviction, I will step forward confidently and eagerly spread healing one massage session at a time.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

I decided to become an entrepreneur because I was ready to combine my love for healing and massage therapy with my dedication to service. Throughout my studies and personal experiences as a massage practitioner, I will be able to customize massage sessions tailored to clients' needs at their respective locations. Through my mobile massage therapy business, I aim to show that massage therapy is more than just relaxation - it's a holistic approach to nurturing the mind, body, soul, and spirit. I was exposed to entrepreneurs in my hometown, East New York, Brooklyn, when my aunt, a cosmetologist and business partner, launched their beauty salon more than 25 years ago, which was the perfect introduction to ownership while pursuing my passion. Lastly, I can set my own hours, introduce my professional preferences to clients, and meet them where they are —both literally and figuratively. I can also serve in environments that are most suited for my safety while maintaining my relationships with other businesses as an independent contractor. My company will remind people that touch is not a luxury; it's a requirement and a secret to the body's longevity.

Do you have any recent wins?

In July 2025, I became a certified entrepreneur through the National Entrepreneur Association and joined the association to further my knowledge. I was honored as a 2025 Courageous Woman Magazine Trailblazer and a 2025 Courageous Woman Global Impact Award Nominee. My expertise and dedication have been recognized through various awards and nominations. I was honored to be a Victor Cohn Prize for Excellence in Medical Science Reporting Nominee, an International Association of Top Professionals Top Massage Practitioner and Wellness Communicator, an Entreprenista 100 Award Nominee, and a 2025 International Impact Book Awards recipient for my adult massage therapy coloring book, T.R.I.B.E (Touch Requires Integrity and Boldness Effortlessly).
