Heidy De La Cruz Built a Podcast Studio for Latinas

June 25, 2026

Heidy De La Cruz is the founder of De La Cruz Media, a podcast production company that helps women launch and sustain shows of their own. She hosts two podcasts, produces for her clients, and created the V.O.I.C.E. Method, a six-week program for getting a podcast off the ground without the overwhelm. A member of the Entreprenista League, Heidy still works full time in the medical field and built all of this in the margins. One show became a company.

"No one said it would be easy, but it is worth it when you are living out your purpose," Heidy says.

Here is how a podcast about immigrant stories grew into a business helping other women find their voice.

The podcast that started with a calling

Heidy was not an entrepreneur, and by the strictest definition she still is not. She works in the medical field. The podcast came first, and it came from faith.

The goal was to share immigrant stories and shift the narrative around immigration. Listeners showed up. They wanted to talk about their first memories of the US, the culture shocks, the slow work of learning a new country. The show found its people fast, and the mission outgrew the original plan.

Two awards and the number one spot

The American Dream in the Eyes of Immigrants is now a two-time award winner. It ranks in the top 5 percent of podcasts globally and sits at number one among Latino immigration podcasts for 2026. In 2025, Heidy opened an email telling her the show had won again.

Becoming the coach she wished she could have hired

Other women started asking how she did it, and the answer came back as one word every time. Overwhelmed. Everyone wanted a podcast. No one knew where to begin.

So Heidy founded De La Cruz Media to take on the part that stops people. Her team handles editing, show notes, and scheduling so clients can focus on recording. She built the V.O.I.C.E. Method, a six-week framework that moves a vague idea to a launched show. She started a second podcast, Podcasting for Latina CEOs, where she shares the strategy and the client wins out loud.

"I truly wished I had someone to help me start my podcast. I would have invested in that," she says. "So now, I have become who I needed when I first started."

Built for Latinas and busy moms

Her clients are Latinas and busy mothers who want to start a podcast and cannot spare the hours the technical side demands. Many are first-generation founders carrying the same doubts she once carried. Whether the show serves a business or a passion project, the work begins the same way: get clear on the goal, then build the path to it.

Underneath the editing and the scheduling, what she offers is relief. "The relief that they feel knowing that they have support and they are not in this podcasting journey alone is so worth it to me," she says.

What's next

Heidy is going deeper in the same lane. She wants to keep taking clients from idea to launch, keep amplifying women's stories, and keep handing first-time podcasters the support she once went without.

Her advice for anyone weighing the leap is short. "Keep going. There will be hard moments, but you have a gift and a calling." She has learned one more thing along the way. "There's less friction in life when you are in alignment."
