Jen Laffin Brings Accountability Without the Angst to Women Solopreneurs
The former teacher and curriculum leader helps women running service businesses move past revenue plateaus, 1 week of follow-through at a time.

“I wanted bigger things for myself and my boss told me I couldn’t have them,” Jen Laffin says. That was the day she decided she would never work for someone else again. She has since doubled the salary she earned as an employee.
Jen Laffin is the founder of Jen Laffin Coaching, where she works with women running service-based businesses who are ready to move past a revenue plateau. She calls her role Chief Momentum Officer and her methodology Accountability Without the Angst. A member of The Entreprenista League, Jen recently launched her newest offer, The Momentum Partnership.
“I’m there to make sure forward motion actually happens, week after week, even when motivation isn’t moving,” Jen says.
A plan someone can actually follow
Jen always knew she wanted to work for herself. As a kid, she painted craft items to sell at her mom’s garage sales. “I thought I was going to be a bajillionaire!” she says.
Before she built her business, she spent years as a teacher and curriculum leader. “It taught me how to build a plan someone can actually follow and how to hold a person to a standard without shaming them for where they’re starting from,” she says.
Accountability built on self-trust
Jen works with service-focused women solopreneurs whose next revenue level depends on their own follow-through. Her methodology came from watching women business owners who knew what to do and still struggled to act on it. On her website, she describes the work as “guiding women business owners out of avoidance and into action.”
Her approach is client-centered and rooted in self-trust with repeatable, lasting momentum. Accountability Without the Angst sits inside her broader Momentum Method framework, alongside Precision Planning, Intentional Action, Mind Management, and Future-Led Identity.
Letting the business evolve
For years, Jen followed the “If I build it, they will come” theory. She posted thought leadership on LinkedIn on a regular basis and trusted clients to find her, which worked to an extent.
“With the kind of work that I do, relationships are a necessity, and that’s where my marketing focus is now,” she says. These days she shares most of her thought leadership in her Substack newsletter, Hello Success, where she has met many wonderful people. Ask about recent wins and she points to “allowing my business to evolve by following my intuition.”
Co-founder energy for women solopreneurs
She describes The Momentum Partnership as “co-founder energy without the co-founder.” She partners with women solopreneurs who need a thought partner, someone who can see their blind spots, and keep them on track for success.
The partnership is built for women who already have a business coach or strategist and want help carrying out the plan. It runs for 6 months, with regular 1:1 sessions and weekday check-ins on Basecamp.
Eyes forward
Jen loves her work. Ask her for advice and she keeps it brief: “Don’t compare yourself or worry about what others are doing,” she says. “You’re not on the same journey. Eyes forward.”
