Jenica Norris: Founder and CEO at Strategic Sound Consulting
November 18, 2025
Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business
Hi! I'm Jenica Norris, The ADHD Business Rebel and founder of Strategic Sound Consulting. I'm also the creator of The Rebel Method—the ONLY coaching and consulting program designed to turn ADHD "chaos" into industry-disrupting superpowers.
My Unique Perspective
As someone who's both ADHD and legally blind, I've spent my entire career proving that "different" doesn't mean "less than"—it means "better at." With 12+ years of Fortune 500 experience at Microsoft, Zillow, Gates Ventures, and T-Mobile, plus certified ADHD coaching credentials, I've cracked the code on building business systems that work WITH your ADHD brain, not against it.
What Makes Me Different
I help neurodivergent entrepreneurs stop overcomplicating sh*t and start leveraging their ADHD traits as their biggest competitive advantages. My approach is fundamentally different because I don't help you "manage" your ADHD—I help you leverage it for business domination.
The Transformation I Create
I transform scattered entrepreneurs into focused profit-makers who dominate their industries by:
✅ Turning hyperfocus into their most profitable business asset
✅ Converting "scattered" thinking into pattern recognition gold
✅ Transforming creative chaos into cash-generating innovation
✅ Using crisis management skills as competitive advantages
My Mission
I'm leading a movement where ADHD entrepreneurs stop trying to fix what isn't broken and start using their neurodivergent superpowers to disrupt entire industries. Through The Rebel Method and my consulting work, I'm proving that our differences aren't obstacles—they're our greatest business assets.
Who are your customers?
ADHD/Neurodivergent SMBs, solopreneurs and entrepreneurs
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
My Journey from Fortune 500 Executive to The ADHD Business Rebel
The short version? I spent 12+ years proving myself in corporate America before realizing I was teaching other ADHD entrepreneurs to fight their brains instead of leveraging their superpowers.
The Corporate Climb
I built what looked like an impressive corporate career over 12+ years at Fortune 500 powerhouses.
🏢 Companies Where I Made My Mark:
Microsoft - Tech innovation and strategy
Zillow - Real estate technology and operations
Gates Ventures - Strategic initiatives and impact
T-Mobile - Telecommunications and business development
The Credentials I Collected
While climbing the corporate ladder, I accumulated what everyone told me were the "right" qualifications.
🎓 Educational Foundation:
Dual Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Law, Societies, and Justice from the University of Washington
MBA focused on business strategy and operations
🏆 Professional Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) - Because apparently I needed to prove I could manage projects
Six Sigma Black Belt - Process excellence and optimization expertise
The Hidden Struggle
Here's what my impressive resume didn't show: I was struggling to fit my neurodivergent brain into systems that weren't designed for me.
The Reality Behind the Success:
I'm both ADHD and legally blind, navigating corporate environments that weren't built for different brains
I spent years masking my ADHD traits and apologizing for how my brain worked
Despite my professional achievements, I felt like I was failing because I couldn't make traditional systems work for me
I was constantly fighting my own cognitive superpowers instead of leveraging them
The Breaking Point
The moment that changed everything? I realized I was teaching other ADHD entrepreneurs to fight their brains instead of unleashing their business superpowers.
I had spent over a decade proving that "different" doesn't mean "less than," but I was still trying to squeeze my ADHD brain into neurotypical business boxes. That's when I knew it was time to rebel against the system and create something better.
🔑 The Truth: My corporate background gave me the business acumen and strategic thinking skills, but my lived experience as a neurodivergent professional gave me the passion and purpose to help other ADHD entrepreneurs stop managing their differences and start leveraging them for business domination.
What made you take the leap to start your own business?
I had spent over a decade proving that "different" doesn't mean "less than," but I was still trying to squeeze my ADHD brain into neurotypical business boxes. That's when I knew it was time to rebel against the system and create something better.
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
Yes! I have several in my family and always wanted more freedom than the corporate world would ever give me.
What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?
🎯 The Brutal Truth: My biggest challenge wasn't building a business—it was trying to build it with a brain that everyone told me was "broken." The lesson that changed everything? Stop trying to fix what isn't broken.
🔥 The Challenge That Nearly Broke Me
The biggest challenge I encountered was trying to fit my ADHD brain into neurotypical business systems and then teaching other ADHD entrepreneurs to do the same damn thing.
For years, I was the poster child for "making it work despite my ADHD." I had the impressive corporate resume, the certifications, the external markers of success. But behind the scenes? I was drowning in a sea of planners, apps, time-blocking systems, and productivity hacks that felt like torture devices designed for my brain.
The Internal War I Was Fighting
Every day felt like this:
✅ Using productivity systems that made me want to scream
✅ Apologizing for how my brain worked in meetings
✅ Forcing myself into neurotypical boxes that felt suffocating
✅ Teaching other ADHD entrepreneurs to "manage" their traits instead of leveraging them
✅ Experiencing persistent feelings of failure despite external business success
The worst part? I was perpetuating the same damaging message I'd been fed my whole life: that my ADHD brain needed to be fixed, managed, and controlled.
⚡ The Breakthrough Moment
The transformation didn't happen overnight. It was a gradual realization that hit me like a freight train:
💡 "Holy shit. The problem isn't my ADHD brain. The problem is I'm trying to force it into systems designed for brains that work completely differently."
I realized I was teaching other ADHD entrepreneurs to fight their superpowers instead of unleashing them. I was part of the problem.
🔥 The Lessons That Changed Everything
🎯 Lesson #1: Stop Trying to Fix What Isn't Broken
Your ADHD brain isn't defective—it's different. And different doesn't mean "less than." It means you have cognitive superpowers that neurotypical entrepreneurs would kill for.
🎯 Lesson #2: Leverage, Don't Manage
The fundamental shift from viewing ADHD as something to "manage" or "overcome" to recognizing it as a collection of business superpowers that can be systematically leveraged for competitive advantage.
The ADHD Business Superpowers I Discovered:
🔥 Hyperfocus: 3 hours of ADHD work = 3 days of neurotypical work
🔥 Pattern Recognition: Spot opportunities others completely miss
🔥 Creative Problem-Solving: Disrupt industries with breakthrough solutions
🔥 Crisis Management: Thrive under pressure when others crumble
🎯 Lesson #3: Design FOR Your Brain, Not Against It
Instead of forcing my ADHD brain into neurotypical systems, I started building systems that worked with my cognitive style:
Short, intense work sprints instead of 8-hour marathons
Visual project management instead of endless to-do lists
Interest-based task selection instead of "should do" priorities
Multiple projects running simultaneously instead of linear completion
🚀 How This Transformed My Entire Approach
This realization completely revolutionized how I work with ADHD entrepreneurs:
❌ OLD WAY: Managing ADHD
"Let's get your ADHD under control"
"Here are systems to help you focus better"
"You need more discipline and structure"
Apologizing for ADHD traits
✅ NEW WAY: Leveraging ADHD Superpowers
"Let's unleash your hyperfocus for maximum profit"
"Your scattered thinking is pattern recognition gold"
"Your chaos is creative innovation waiting to happen"
