Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business

I’m Mesha, Creative Director and Interior Designer at id Designs & Co., a forward-thinking studio specializing in sustainable materials, innovative products, and wellness-focused design solutions for residential and commercial spaces. My journey began in 2014 with handmade handbags before evolving into custom interior décor and furniture. After much success in that space, we transitioned fully into interior design in 2022, bringing a fresh approach to creating thoughtful, inclusive, and sustainable environments.

Who are your customers?

Our customers are wellness-conscious homeowners who believe their spaces should not only look beautiful but also feel peaceful, intentional, and restorative. Typically women between the ages of 35 and 65, they value high-quality, sustainably made pieces and appreciate the art of quiet luxury—elevated design that speaks softly through timeless elegance, texture, and craftsmanship.

They seek thoughtful interiors that reflect their personal style, support their daily routines, and promote a sense of calm and comfort. These clients trust us to guide them with a hands-off approach, delivering personalized solutions that blend beauty, function, and mindful design. At id Designs & Co., we help our clients transform their homes into serene sanctuaries—spaces that feel grounded, luxurious, and aligned with their values.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

Turning a hobby into a profession has been a transformative journey for me, shaped by a unique blend of experiences and insights. Unlike the traditional path to a career in interior design, my journey began in the realm of computer science. I pursued this field because it was a natural progression from my middle school interests. However, my passion for design never waned, and I found myself constantly drawn to creative projects.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

My entrepreneurial journey began in 2014, forged through a season of personal challenges and profound growth. After stepping away from my role as an Account Manager, a position that had taken a toll on my mental health, I made a life-changing decision to pursue a path that aligned with both my purpose and passion.

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?

Starting an entrepreneurial journey is never easy as it demands resilience, grit, and a constant willingness to grow through challenges. When I launched my first business in 2014, creating leather handbags and accessories, I was fueled by passion but quickly faced the reality of what I didn’t know. The lack of business knowledge and limited resources made the learning curve steep. But looking back, that experience became one of my greatest teachers. It taught me how to exhaust every resource available, ask the tough questions, and, most importantly, realize that being creative wasn’t enough—I had to become a businesswoman, too. I had to learn how to build a brand, manage finances, develop meaningful relationships with peers, partners, and investors, and understand the business from the inside out. I immersed myself in learning a little about a lot.

What accomplishment are the most proud of to date in your business?

Though only three years young and driven by a small but mighty team of three, we’ve earned meaningful recognition for our work. What began as a passion project has evolved into a thriving business—featured in both Canvas Rebel and BOLD Magazine—where our strategic pivots and commitment to growth in a field we truly love have taken center stage.

Our mission to design spaces where people feel seen, comfortable, and deeply connected has struck a chord with many. That dedication was honored with back-to-back awards as the Most Client-Focused Interior Design Studio in Central Florida for 2024 and 2025 by Lux Magazine. These accolades are a testament to our unwavering focus on delivering standout client experiences and thoughtful, innovative design.

What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

We’re just getting started. As we continue to grow, our focus is on scaling with purpose. From expanding our team with talented designers to developing deeper partnerships with artisans and sustainable brands, we’re investing in the people and products that align with our values.

We’re also excited to explore new markets, elevate our e-commerce presence, and launch exclusive home decor collections that reflect our quiet luxury aesthetic. With upcoming collaborations, educational initiatives for design enthusiasts, and potential real estate development projects on the horizon, the future is all about impact—creating beautiful, functional, and mindful spaces that tell a story and feel like home.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?

That rest is just as productive as hustle. In the early days, I thought I had to do everything, be everywhere, and say yes to every opportunity. But I’ve learned that clarity comes in the quiet moments. Rest fuels creativity, and boundaries protect your purpose. Success isn’t just about working hard—it’s about working aligned, staying rooted in your “why,” and trusting that every season, even the slow ones, serve a purpose.

What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?

Having a coach has been a game-changer for me. They provide clarity when things feel chaotic, challenge me to think bigger, and hold me accountable to the vision I have for my brand. It’s more than strategy—it’s about mindset, alignment, and growth. My coach helps me see around corners, make confident decisions, and stay focused on building a business that not only thrives but feels good to run.

In a world full of apps and platforms, the human connection, insight, and support from a coach is priceless.

Keep going and keep growing. The journey will have its highs and lows, but every challenge is a chance to learn, pivot, and rise stronger. Don’t try to do it all alone, plug into a community like this one. Surround yourself with women who’ve been there, who understand the hustle, and who are willing to share advice, knowledge, and resources to help you scale with confidence.

Your vision is valid. Stay rooted, stay inspired, and remember... you don’t have to have it all figured out to make powerful moves.
