Meet Prudence Hatchett, the Leadership Resilience Strategist Who Believes the Leader Is the Infrastructure

Before you expand the business, you must expand the leader.

September 4, 2026

Entrepreneurs are taught to expand everything. You can have the strategy, build the team, increase revenue, create opportunities, and still discover that your internal capacity has not caught up with your success.

At some point, business growth is no longer determined solely by what a founder knows how to do. It is also determined by what she has the emotional capacity to sustain.

That is the foundation of what I call Evolutionary Resilience™.

Growth has weight

Success looks exciting from the outside. More clients. Greater visibility. Larger contracts. A growing team. Bigger opportunities. But growth has weight.

More revenue brings responsibility. Visibility brings scrutiny. Teams bring personalities and expectations. Bigger opportunities carry greater risk. The success you worked for can create pressure you were never taught to manage.

We teach women how to build successful businesses. We spend far less time teaching them how to remain emotionally sustainable inside those businesses.

That is where resilience must become more than the ability to “bounce back.”

Resilience should evolve you

I define Evolutionary Resilience™ as the capacity to move through adversity, pressure, emotional disruption, and change in a way that doesn't simply restore you, but transforms you.

Sometimes you aren't supposed to return to who you were before the disruption. Returning may mean returning to the same patterns, responses, and limitations.

Evolutionary Resilience™ asks a different question. Not simply, how do I get through this? But who do I need to become because of this?

This philosophy is central to my brand because my work sits at the intersection of leadership, mental health, human behavior, and resilience. Throughout my career as a therapist, leadership strategist, coach, entrepreneur, author, and speaker, I have seen people survive extraordinary situations without being transformed.

Survival and resilience are not the same. You can survive while remaining anxious. You can achieve while doubting yourself. You can succeed while repeating patterns that no longer serve you.

Evolution requires awareness, regulation, adaptation, and intentional change.

Your nervous system is in the boardroom

…or the coffee shop, or auditorium, or living room… wherever you meet.

Every decision is made by a human being with experiences, fears, expectations, emotional patterns, and a nervous system interpreting what is happening around her.

Threat doesn't have to be physical. It can be losing a major client. Making payroll. Receiving criticism. Being rejected. Watching revenue decline. Entering a room where you feel you must prove yourself. Delegating something you have always controlled.

We rush decisions because uncertainty feels uncomfortable. We avoid conversations because conflict feels threatening. We micromanage because control quiets anxiety. We overwork because slowing down feels unsafe. We call these behaviors ambition, when sometimes they are protection.

When the business problem isn't a business problem

Not every problem showing up in a business originates in the business. A delegation problem may be a trust problem. A visibility problem may be fear of judgment. A communication problem may be an emotional regulation problem.

A leadership problem may be an exhausted nervous system trying to maintain control. Founders need enough self-awareness to ask: What is driving me right now?

Strategy or fear? Discernment or avoidance? Commitment or an inability to stop? The answers can change how you lead.

The leader is the infrastructure

In my bestselling, award-winning book, Evolutionary Resilience: Conquering the Emotional Intrusions of Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma, I explore moving beyond enduring emotional difficulty toward developing through it.

I use the word intrusions intentionally because anxiety, fear, trauma, disappointment, and self-doubt can enter spaces where we never invited them. Leadership is one of those spaces.

We don't leave ourselves outside the office. Our ambition comes with us, but so does our fear. Our confidence comes with us, but so can insecurity. Our experience comes with us, but so can unresolved patterns. That is why the leader must be viewed as part of the business infrastructure.

Your ability to think clearly under pressure, your emotional regulation, your boundary setting, and your ability to recover from disappointment is infrastructure. Your resilience is infrastructure.

If that internal infrastructure is overloaded, the effects eventually appear in decision-making, relationships, culture, creativity, or performance.

Expand the leader

The founder who can start the business may need new internal capacity to lead it to the next level. Growth may require releasing control. Trusting others. Setting stronger boundaries. Navigating greater visibility. Recovering faster from setbacks. Making decisions without letting fear take the lead.

Who must you become to lead what you are building?

Because sometimes the next level of business growth doesn't begin with another strategy. It begins with the evolution of the woman leading it. This is Evolutionary Resilience™.
