How Adriana Semidey Built Budget Bee Financial to Give Creatives and Beauty Professionals Real Financial Confidence

April 27, 2026

Meet Adriana Semidey, founder of Budget Bee Financial, a firm providing bookkeeping, tax, tax planning, and CFO services to creatives and beauty professionals. A first-generation Latina entrepreneur with more than thirteen years of experience in finance, Adriana built her firm around supporting women who are brilliant at their craft but often feel overwhelmed when it comes to their numbers.

Entrepreneurship was not something she ever planned for, it found her through a combination of opportunity, passion, and a desire for more presence with her children. What makes her work distinctive is the premise underneath it, that bookkeeping alone is not enough. Her clients want clarity, strategy, and education, and she has built a multi-six-figure firm around delivering exactly that, through a mix of strategic tax planning that has saved clients tens of thousands of dollars and the kind of financial literacy that changes how they run their businesses.

Please share a brief introduction and your business:

I’m the founder of Budget Bee Financial, where we provide bookkeeping, tax, tax planning, and CFO services. With over 13 years of experience in finance, I’ve built my firm around supporting creatives and beauty professionals, helping them better understand and take control of their finances.

As a first-generation Latina entrepreneur, I’m deeply passionate about education and empowering my clients through financial literacy. My goal is not just to manage numbers, but to help business owners feel confident, informed, and in control of their financial future.

Are you a mamaprenista?

Yes, and one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to give yourself grace. There’s no perfect balance, especially when you’re building a business and raising a family.

I focus on being present in whatever role I’m in at the moment, whether that’s as a business owner or as a mom. I’ve also learned the importance of setting boundaries, asking for support when needed, and not trying to do everything alone.

Take us back to when you launched? What was your marketing strategy?

When I first launched my business, I truly started from zero. My initial strategy was very hands-on. I spent hours each day doing cold outreach, connecting with people in my niche and introducing my services.

From there, things began to grow organically through word-of-mouth, and eventually Instagram became a key platform for me. I focused on sharing educational content and practical financial tips to help business owners better understand their numbers.

It didn’t necessarily go as planned, but that process helped me build real relationships and trust early on. Looking back, that foundation is what allowed my business to grow in a way that felt aligned and sustainable.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Not at all. Becoming an entrepreneur was something that happened over time. I never initially saw myself taking this path, but as I grew into it, it became clear that it was exactly where I was meant to be.

Now, I can’t imagine going back to a traditional 9-5. Entrepreneurship has given me a sense of purpose, independence, and fulfillment that I didn’t even realize I was looking for.

What accomplishments are you the most proud of to date in your business?

I’m most proud of building a multi-six-figure business from the ground up while staying true to my mission.

Beyond the numbers, what matters most to me is the impact I’ve had on my clients. I’ve helped business owners scale and, through strategic tax planning, save tens of thousands of dollars, which can completely change the trajectory of their business.

Being able to combine financial expertise with real, tangible results for my clients is something I take a lot of pride in.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?

I wish I had known earlier the importance of truly valuing my work and pricing accordingly. In the beginning, it can be easy to undervalue yourself, but confidence in your expertise is key to growth.

I’ve also learned that you don’t have to do everything alone. Building support, creating systems, and trusting others is what allows your business to scale.

Most importantly, I’ve learned that the journey doesn’t have to be perfect. You grow into it, and that’s part of what makes it so rewarding.

When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?

One of my biggest hiring tips is to look beyond just experience and focus on alignment. I look for people who are proactive, willing to learn, and genuinely care about the clients we serve. Skills can be taught, but attitude and work ethic are harder to train.

What did you do before starting your own business?

Before starting my business, I spent over 13 years working in finance, where I developed a strong foundation in accounting, tax, and financial strategy.

That experience gave me the technical skills and confidence to eventually branch out on my own and build something that aligned more closely with my values and the communities I wanted to serve.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

Starting my own business came from a combination of opportunity, passion, and a desire for freedom. I saw how many entrepreneurs, especially in the creative and beauty space, were overwhelmed by their finances and lacked the support and education they needed.

At the same time, I wanted to create a life that allowed me to be more present with my children. Building my own firm gave me the ability to pursue meaningful work while also having the flexibility and freedom I value.

Do you have any recent wins?

This past year has been a season of consistent growth for my firm, both financially and in the level of impact we’re creating for our clients.

I’ve continued to expand our reach through education and visibility, especially on platforms like Instagram, where I focus on making financial literacy more accessible.

More importantly, I’m proud that I’ve been able to build something from nothing that not only supports my family, but also empowers other women to feel confident, informed, and in control of their finances.

Stepping further into leadership and continuing to grow in that role has been one of my biggest wins.

What’s one app on your phone that you cannot live without?

Google Calendar is something I absolutely can’t live without. As a business owner and a mom, my schedule is always full, and it helps me stay organized, manage my time effectively, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

It keeps both my business and personal life structured, which is essential for staying productive and present in both areas.

Who are your customers?

My clients are primarily creatives and beauty professionals. Women who are building their own businesses but often feel overwhelmed when it comes to finances.

I work with entrepreneurs who want more than just bookkeeping. They want clarity, strategy, and guidance so they can grow sustainably and make smarter financial decisions.

What’s your top productivity tip?

My biggest productivity tip is to be intentional with your time and focus on what actually moves the needle. I’ve learned that being busy doesn’t always mean being productive. I also believe in simplifying processes and not overcomplicating things, which helps me stay consistent and efficient.

What’s your favorite business tool?

One of my favorite business tools is Double, which is an accounting workflow software. It’s been a game-changer for managing our processes, keeping everything organized, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. It not only supports our internal operations, but also helps us deliver a higher level of service and accuracy to our clients.

What’s your approach to work-life balance?

For me, it’s less about perfect balance and more about integration. There are seasons where business requires more of me, and others where my family does. And I’ve learned to give myself grace in that.

As a mom and business owner, I focus on being present wherever I am. When I’m working, I’m focused. When I’m with my family, I’m intentional about that time. Building a business that allows me flexibility has been a big part of creating that balance.

How do you avoid burn-out?

Avoiding burnout is something I’ve had to be very intentional about, especially during tax season. For me, it comes down to setting boundaries and giving myself permission to rest.

I’ve learned that I can’t pour into my business, my clients, and my family if I’m running on empty. Even in busy seasons, I try to create moments to reset, step away when needed, and remind myself that sustainability is just as important as growth.

What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?

My biggest advice is to just start, even if you don’t feel fully ready. You learn so much through the process, and growth comes from taking action.

Also, don’t be afraid to invest in yourself and trust your value early on. Confidence is something you build over time, but believing in what you bring to the table is key.

And most importantly, stay consistent. Building something meaningful takes time, but if you stay committed and focused, the results will come.
