Courtney Koenig Coaches Women Founders How to Build Businesses with Alignment
July 14, 2025
Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:
I’m Courtney Koenig, host of the Become podcast, where I share how peace is the strategy for sustainable success. As the founder of Courtney Koenig Coaching, I’ve had the privilege of coaching hundreds of female founders around the world to build thriving businesses with ease and alignment. Find me in Dallas with my family and a bunch of dogs!
Who are your customers?
Women founders.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
Before I started my business, I worked with Fortune 500 clients in marketing and research, but honestly, I always felt unsure of my own gifts. I was great at what I did, but deep down, I questioned if I really brought anything valuable to the table. I was completely burnt out and exhausted from trying to keep up with what I thought success was supposed to look like. I didn’t like feeling that way, but I didn’t know how to change.
That experience is such a big part of why I do what I do now. I know what it feels like to pour everything you have into your work and still feel like it’s not enough. I built my business to show female founders there’s another way, where peace leads the way, and success gets to feel good.
What made you take the leap to start your own business?
I just couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more for me. My intuition kept bugging me! There was this constant nudge that I was meant to do something different, something bigger, something that actually felt good. Even though I had a successful career, I knew I wasn’t fully using my gifts, and I definitely wasn’t living the kind of life I wanted.
I followed that feeling, even though I didn’t have it all figured out. What started as an idea to help female founders with social media quickly turned into something so much bigger when I discovered Human Design. Once I experienced how powerful it was in my own life, how it gave me permission to show up as myself and finally stop overworking, I knew this was the work I was meant to do.
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
Not at all! I actually never thought entrepreneurship was something for me. I didn’t think I could do it. I felt so inadequate, like I wasn’t worthy of creating success on my own. For a long time, I thought success was for other people, people who had it all figured out, people who were naturally confident. That wasn’t me.
But once I started learning how to trust myself and lean into my own gifts, everything shifted. I realized I didn’t have to do it like everyone else. I could build success my way, rooted in peace, alignment, and what actually feels good.
Take us back to when you first launched your business; what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
My strategy was simple, I just wanted to make real friends on social media. I had already made some great connections there, and I knew that building genuine relationships mattered more than any fancy strategy. I wasn’t showing up with an agenda; I was just truly interested in other people and their work, and honestly, that really worked.
What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?
The biggest challenge I’ve faced is living with MS while running my business. Honestly, I feel sick all the time. The fatigue, the brain fog, the unpredictability, it’s constant. There are days when it feels impossible to show up, and for a long time, I thought I had to push through it, like success only counted if I worked harder than everyone else.
But MS has taught me a completely different way to live and lead. I’ve learned that peace has to come first. I’ve learned to listen to my body, to slow down, and to create systems in my business that support my health instead of working against it.
What accomplishment are the most proud of to date in your business?
I’m most proud of the incredible women I’ve had the chance to meet and cheer on through my business. These aren’t just clients, they’ve become real friends. Supporting them, celebrating their wins, and watching them step into their purpose has honestly made me a better person.
I’m inspired by them every single day. The fact that my work has created a community of women who are building success with peace and ease, and that we all get to grow together, is what I love the most. That’s the real win.
Do you have any recent wins from the last year that you'd like to celebrate with our community?
Yes! One of my favorite wins from this past year is that my podcast, Become, is ranking! I’ve absolutely loved creating a space where I can share the inspiring stories of female founders and have real conversations about what success actually looks like, without the burnout or the pressure to feel like a perfect Instagram post.
It’s been so fun to see the podcast so well-received and to feel that connection with listeners who are craving more peace and sustainable success.
What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
Next up for my business is expanding the Become podcast in big ways! I’m so excited to bring on sponsors who align with the message of peace-driven success and support the incredible women in my community. I’m also dreaming up live podcast events, where we can take these inspiring conversations off the air and into real life.
Over the next few years, I see Become growing into not just a podcast, but a movement, a space where female founders feel supported, celebrated, and reminded that success gets to feel good.
What is your top productivity tip?
I know it sounds crazy, but the best thing I’ve ever done for my productivity is to stop forcing and start resting. When I give myself permission to slow down, listen to my body, and recharge, I show up with way more clarity, creativity, and energy.
On the flip side, how do you avoid burnout?
I take somatic breaks throughout the day. Instead of pushing through or ignoring how I’m feeling, I pause and check in with my body. Whether it’s deep breathing, stretching, or just getting up to move, those small moments help me reset and release any tension or stress building up.
What is your approach to work-life balance / integration?
I follow my energy, not the clock.
Work-life balance for me isn’t about rigid schedules or doing all the things. It’s about paying attention to how I feel and honoring my natural rhythms. I work when my energy is strongest, and I rest when my body tells me to slow down. Some days that means doing less, and that’s okay!
What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?*
I’m honestly loving this journey so far, being surrounded by other women who are building big things and leading with heart has been such a gift.
When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?
I trust the vibe. I like to hear about their experience, of course, but more than anything, I’m paying attention to how the conversation feels. Do they seem aligned with the mission and values of my business?
What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?
I love keeping things simple, so I’m all about all-in-one platforms like Go High Level.I don’t want to juggle a million tools.
What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?
our success will come from leaning into who you truly are, not trying to fit into what you think it’s supposed to look like. Trust your gifts. Trust your intuition.
