Dr. Aumatma Simmons Builds Madre Fertility to Reach Millions
The naturopathic endocrinologist scaling root-cause fertility care beyond the clinic walls.

More than 2,000 couples have built their families with Dr. Aumatma Simmons. Many arrived after being told they would never conceive, could not have biological children, or that IVF was their only option. She kept finding deeper answers, and those 2,000 families are the reason she does this work.
Dr. Aumatma Simmons is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Madre Fertility, a root-cause fertility platform reshaping how the next generation approaches conception and hormonal health. A double board-certified naturopathic endocrinologist, she has guided women and couples through the journey to conception for more than 20 years. A member of the Entreprenista League, she spent years resisting the word founder. Then she saw it was the only vehicle big enough for her vision. Here's how 2 decades of clinical practice became a fertility platform built to reach millions.
The gap no one was filling
Before launching her own company, Aumatma spent years in clinical practice specializing in hormones, stress, and fertility. Through that work, and through her own fertility journey, she kept watching the same thing happen. Women were told everything looked normal while their bodies were clearly asking for deeper support.
That disconnect pushed her to build something different. She wanted care that went beyond symptom management to address the root causes of infertility, using an intuitive, hormone-focused, and holistic approach. Starting her own company was the only way to build the care she believed her patients, and she herself, deserved.
From healer to founder
For a long time, Aumatma saw herself as a clinician and a healer, and resisted the founder label entirely. What changed her mind was the scale of the problem.
She realized entrepreneurship was the only vehicle big enough to hold her vision: to reach millions of women who are misinformed about their fertility. Often well-meaning practitioners do not have the time to go deep.
Building platforms and programs was how she could help women understand the signals their hormones send and take charge of what matters most.
Building Madre Fertility
Madre Fertility is the scalable evolution of Aumatma's clinical work. She describes it as a root-cause, doctor-in-your-pocket platform that gives couples real answers and clear pathways forward before they invest in invasive, high-cost treatments.
It came together with two co-founders. The first found her while seeking advice on a supplement he wanted to formulate. The formulation did not pan out, but the shared vision did. It took nearly 3 years from that first conversation to a company, an app, and a business model they were genuinely excited about. "Choose co-founders based on trust, complementary strengths, and shared long-term vision," she says, "not just immediate opportunity."
Following the data her body sends
The lesson Aumatma most wishes she had learned earlier came from her own body. Four years into her journey, pushing through 60 to 80 hour weeks, she realized her irregular cycles, exhaustion, and mood changes had been signaling burnout all along.
"Your hormones are not an inconvenience," she says. "They're data. Follow them." That principle became Hormonal Leadership, the system she has been developing and coaching for the last decade, which treats biology as a guardrail instead of waiting for burnout to force a full stop.
Getting out of her own way
One of Aumatma's biggest wins was structural. For years she served as both founder and full-time clinician, which capped the company's impact. She redesigned the model so couples still receive personalized, one-on-one support through a trained clinical team, with her oversight woven in where it matters most.
That shift let her step fully into her role as visionary founder. Her advice for other founders follows the same logic. "Do not try to build everything alone," she says. "Get support early and let them help you carry it."
What's next
Aumatma's focus now is scaling Madre so it can support at least 1,000 couples a month, making root-cause fertility support the norm rather than the exception. The vision reaches women and couples worldwide, long before they ever arrive at an IVF waiting room.
