Shebre Health Solutions, Inc.

When I decided to move across the country for a new role, it felt like a scary but clear path forward. When that job unexpectedly disappeared, the path forward was no longer clear. That sudden shift forced me to confront a secret desire and to take a leap of faith.

For decades, I gave my all to deliver visions set by other leaders. I gained valuable experience that I used to create the proprietary working system and framework for my new chapter.

I launched Shebre Health Solutions, a biotech consulting firm. As a responsible female founder, I checked all the traditional boxes required to build a successful business. Yet, despite this and having over three decades of experience, the crowded market left me unsettled and nervous.

I recognize some fear is normal. However, my fear was masking self-doubt. I had to do a bit of self-work to reset my focus. I am sharing some of that self-work here to encourage you to stay the course.

Knowing your value

First, fear does not disappear before you act. It shrinks after you act, and not a moment before. When I leaned into the possibilities instead of potential failures, my self-esteem as a female founder skyrocketed, and my company received its first client “YES.”

Competitors may be fierce, but they are not you. Your unique combination of professional expertise, lived experience, and personal perspective serves as your ultimate value and differentiator. Feel it and embrace your authentic self.

Please know I am not saying you should ignore marketplace signals. There are times when you need to pivot or refine your approach as your industry may dictate. I am simply highlighting that true empowerment requires unshakeable self-worth and high self-value.

Find strength in community

You might find yourself second-guessing your plans to scale or drifting from your core vision. Navigating these high-stakes moments also requires a strong circle of peers who understand the realities of being a female founder. Surrounding yourself with supportive, heart-led, like-minded founders protects your energy when things get tough.

I am thankful for the Entreprenista League community. Connecting with other high-level women who value collaboration over competition enables you to quickly find the reassurance you need to stand firmly in your authority.

When challenges arise and timelines stretch, remember you are the ‘secret sauce’ of your company. Own your authority as the visionary leader your company needs to thrive.

Key mindset shifts

If you are at a crossroads and need inspiration, here are a few reminders to help you push through:

Action shrinks fear

Waiting to feel ready means waiting for a feeling that arrives after the leap, not before it.

Remember your specific value

‍ I did not build a business for all biotechs. I built it for a specific type of company at a specific stage with a specific problem, which lets people immediately understand why they need me.

Trust your framework

Clients want to know how you think. Your strategy supports your vision and is from your heart. My Align, Collaborate, and Transform (A.C.T.) framework provides language for the thoughts behind my process.

YOU are the differentiator

The years you spent building someone else's success belong to you, and they are yours to bring wherever you choose to go.
