Please share a brief introduction and your business:

I’m Luba Patlakh Kaplun, a speech-language pathologist, myofunctional therapist, entrepreneur, and mom of three. I’m the founder and director of Kidology, Inc., a pediatric practice offering speech, occupational, physical therapy, and ABA services. I’m also the creator of The Confident IEP Parent and the host of The Growth Lab Podcast, where I share real conversations about growth, balance, and purpose-driven business.

Are you a mamaprenista?

Absolutely. Give yourself grace. You can be ambitious and present—but not perfect. Ask for help and let go of guilt.

Take us back to when you launched? What was your marketing strategy?

It started with trust and relationships. Word of mouth, school partnerships, and delivering exceptional care helped us grow organically—often faster than expected.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

No—but I always knew I wanted to make an impact. Entrepreneurship became the path that allowed me to do that on a larger scale.

What accomplishments are you the most proud of to date in your business?

Building a practice that has supported over 150,000 families while remaining mission-driven and community-rooted.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?

That you don’t have to do everything yourself! Building a strong team sooner would have saved time, energy, and a lot of unnecessary stress within the Entrepenista ecosystem.

What did you do before starting your own business?

My journey wasn’t linear. I studied broadcast journalism and worked at Good Morning America before discovering my passion for child development and earning my master’s degree in speech-language pathology.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

I saw gaps in care and access for families and knew there had to be a better way. I wanted to create a model that was collaborative, inclusive, and truly family-centered.

Do you have any recent wins?

Launching a Myofunctional Therapy division, expanding access through a mobile therapy bus, and empowering parents nationwide through The Confident IEP Parent.

Who are your customers?

We serve families raising children with developmental delays, disabilities, and diverse learning needs. Beyond therapy, we support parents who want to feel confident advocating for their children and navigating systems that often feel overwhelming.

What's your top productivity tip?

Time blocking with intention. I protect my calendar and plan my week around priorities, not just tasks. If it’s not scheduled, it doesn’t happen!

What's your favorite business tool?

Systems and SOPs. They create clarity, consistency, and freedom—for both leadership and teams.

How do you avoid burn-out?

I’ve learned to listen to my body and step back when needed. Movement, being outdoors, and unplugging—even briefly—help me reset and come back grounded.

What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?

Be the woman you needed as a child and the leader you once dreamed of becoming. Don’t measure growth only by numbers—measure it by the lives you impact, the barriers you break, and the doors you open for others. Stay rooted in purpose, lead with heart, and trust that meaningful growth always follows authentic impact.
