Nicole Falkowski Started Industrially Organized to Back the Employee

After 20+ years in HR leadership, she left corporate to coach the people she had always wanted to advocate for.

September 9, 2026

“I had a leader make a decision that affected my career path for the last time.” By then, Nicole Falkowski had spent 20-plus years in Human Resources, watching the same pattern repeat in company after company. Leadership makes the call, and the employee absorbs it. She decided she was finished being the person who had to stand behind it.

Nicole Falkowski is the founder and CEO of Industrially Organized, a career coaching practice that takes the science of industrial-organizational psychology and applies it one profession at a time. She started the company in November 2025 and is a member of the Entreprenista League.

She calls the work personal HR, which is close to exactly what it is: Srategy built for the individual by someone who spent 20 years on the company side of the table.

“I was done coaching up and idly sitting back watching poor leadership succeed. I decided that it was time to finally do my own thing and help employees succeed on their own terms.”

Her path from HR leader to founder came down to the one thing she could never do from inside a company.

What 20 years in HR made obvious

Nicole worked across industries and company sizes, from large organizations to small start-ups, and she can usually predict which ones are heading for trouble. The tell is always the same. “I noticed that the failures ended up happening when there was a disconnect between leadership and employees,” she says. “A company and a leader cannot be successful without successful employees.”

Industrial-organizational psychology is the scientific study of human behavior at work, and most companies use it to improve the organization. Nicole kept arriving at a simpler version. “All of these principles seemed so obvious to me,” she says. “Treat your employees right, and the benefits and success are inevitable.”

Loyal to herself and her clients

The frustration was structural. As an HR professional on payroll, her guidance had to serve the company first, even when she could see a better move for the person sitting across from her.

“I found myself wanting to tell some employees that they needed to refocus their careers at another company or in a different position, but I couldn’t do that, and it was frustrating,” she says. She became the go-to person in HR at almost every company she worked for, and she still had to stand by decisions she disagreed with.

Eventually it got to be too much. So she left, and her proudest accomplishment so far is that she did it! “It wasn’t an easy decision to leave behind the comforts and reliability of a corporate job, but I realized that my expertise was going to be best utilized on my own terms,” she says. Her focus landed on the employees themselves, at every level, helping them navigate their careers with confidence.

Succeed on Purpose

Her flagship program is called Succeed on Purpose, a guide to tapping into your own psyche at work. It walks clients through their current motivators, their real goals, how to work with their strengths, and how to build around their weaknesses. The last piece is the mindset move she cares about most, shifting from “I’m not successful yet” to “I’m currently successfully achieving my goals.”

A training that came out of 3 coffee chats

Her Executive to Entrepreneur training exists because 3 different women asked for it. “I just launched this training, and it was inspired by 3 different coffee chats with fellow Entreprenistas,” Nicole says. Each conversation landed on the same request: Adapt what she does for professionals for executive-level leaders thinking about starting something of their own.

She is candid about where the business is right now. She has not been able to hire anyone yet, and she says the knowledge she has gained running her own company has been priceless. Her advice for anyone new is the same thing that produced her newest offer: “Schedule coffee chats! Meet other Entreprenistas. It’s a network like none other, so reach out because you can find a new bestie or a new business opportunity,” she says. “Also, attend as many sessions as you can!”

Capacity over calendar

Nicole’s approach to work-life balance starts with an honest account of what a person can actually carry. “A free hour on your calendar does not automatically mean you have the mental, emotional, or physical energy to fill it,” she says.

She tells clients to name what drains their energy and what restores it, then builds systems that remove unnecessary friction, whether that means templates or time blocking. “Adjust your expectations before exhaustion starts making the wrong decisions on your behalf,” she says. “Get ahead of the burnout by making rest and reset part of your strategy.”

For her, balance is “intentional alignment between your work, your capacity, and the life you want.”

The podcast, and the book after it

Nicole launched the Industrially Organized podcast and YouTube channel this year, and several fellow Entreprenistas have already joined her as guests. “I’ve had so much fun with this,” she says. The show gives her the platform she spent 20 years wishing employees had.

A book is next. “I’m planning on writing a book about the principles of my training with my personal stories and experiences mixed in,” she says. She is hoping to start taking speaking engagements by next year.
