5 Things I’m Prioritizing on LinkedIn as We Close Out 2026

A peek inside what’s actually working right now, and what I’m doubling down on.

NearPoint Strategies

Every year around this time, I take stock of what’s working, what I’ve been neglecting (cobbler with no shoes!), and where I want to put my energy going into the new year. This year feels different. Aside from LinkedIn changing drastically, I’ve been testing some things that are working really well and I haven’t talked about it publicly yet.

So I ran a live workshop to share all of it. Here’s a recap (full replay at bottom).

1. Two specific types of posts that pull lurkers out of hiding

Many of y’all are creating content for the wrong reasons. You're chasing impressions and engagement from people who will never hire you.

The two post types I’m focusing on right now are built around my Know-Trust-Like framework, but with a specific twist: one gets people off LinkedIn and onto your email list, and the other gets them invested in you as a person.

Both require storytelling. Generic ‘how-to’ posts don’t cut it anymore, and AI has made that even more true.

2. Boosting those posts strategically

We can’t depend on the algorithm. Full stop. What I’ve been doing instead is posting organically, watching which posts generate profile views and link clicks, and then boosting the ones that perform to a very targeted audience.

The result? Over 200 profile views from exactly the right people on one post alone. And then I say hi to every single one of them (that part is key; if you just boost but only look at the impressions, you’re going to be sorely disappointed).

3. Non-obvious, high-intent signals you’re probably ignoring

Profile views, likes, connection requests, those are obvious. But there are three signals people completely overlook that are some of the highest-intent signals on the platform: people who follow you without connecting, people who follow your company page, and your LinkedIn newsletter subscribers. These people said hi from over the fence (think Wilson from Home Improvement). Say hi back.

4. Communities as a bridge, not a destination

We are in a trust recession, and that changes how you have to think about building relationships. I use communities like the Entreprenista League not to be active on the platform itself, but to find my people and bring the relationship onto LinkedIn where I can nurture it properly. In my first year of business, 60-70% of my revenue came from one community doing exactly this.

5. User-generated content that reflects your philosophy

This one is newer for me, and it’s been working so well. Instead of just sharing client testimonials myself, I’ve been creating co-branded templates my clients can share on their own profiles, built around our shared belief system. When they share it, I repost it. It gets in front of both our audiences. And it says more about what I do than anything I could ever write about myself. (Here’s an example).

All five of these connect back to the same core thing: starting conversations. Not going viral or chasing impressions (what are impressions anyway?), but getting into the DMs with the right people at the right time.

If you want the full breakdown, including specific DM scripts, the step-by-step boosting strategy, how to find your newsletter subscribers, what to say to them, and the UGC template process, the full workshop replay is waiting for you.
